Characters: Alex and Brenda

Alex: Wow, your house is nice and clean.

Brenda: Thanks. Your house is nice and tidy too…

Alex: No, I mean with four kids, a husband who is at work all the time and everything, you still manage to keep the house spotless and elegant.

Brenda: Thanks for saying that. I just give the kids chores and I set house rules.

Alex: Rules? Like what? How is it that your kids follow them?

Brenda: Well, that’s easy. I’ve been doing it since they were little. I give them incentives when they do good things and praise their actions.

Alex: Do you also punish them if they do something wrong?

Brenda: Punish them? No, not the way you think. They will just not get the incentives or gain my respect  by their actions.

Alex: So your kids know how you feel about most things and do things that make you happy?
